Blair Atholl

28th Oct 22 to 2nd Nov 22

This might be the last Motorhome adventure of 2022 as the weather deteriorates and the nights draw in. Our favourite site Blair Castle Caravan Park has extended it’s opening period this year until the end of Nov so we thought we would spend a few days walking in the hills and admiring the autumn colours.

We managed a couple of reasonable walks over the few days we were there; Marble Lodge and the high trail to Bruar. Another was aborted in the torrential rain. We eventually decided to come home a little earlier than planned as the forecast was bleak for the remainder. In the past we would simply have found another site with a better weather forecast, but the rain coming from the west covered virtually the whole of the UK.

As you can see from the selection of photos below, the autumn colours were spectacular. Even for the few days we were there, it was well worth the drive.

Motorhome Niggles

Nothing major this trip.

After escaling the issue of the leaking roof to the MD of Bailey UK, the problem was quickly fixed – parts were found and shipped to Don Amott within 24 hours. Who knows how long I would have waited unless I took the initiative. However, because the water ingrees had been occuring for so long, further work (and warranty claims) have been raised to resolve the internal damage the water has caused.

Round trip distance 685 miles according to google maps.
